Career Enhancement Ideas

Career Enhancement
Career enhancements are hard to dream up even for the most creative of minds. The following suggestions are meant to give you some hints and tips on how you can enhance your career without spending a fortune doing it.

• Use the internet to enhance your career. If you need to market or advertise your business or service, there is no better place to start than the virtual world.

• If you are in a service-oriented business or career, use the power of visual media to gain customers. Television is a powerful way to enhance your career. You can find more customers than you ever thought possible if you use the power of television. Infomercials and standard television advertisements are great ways to enhance careers providing the best way to locally enhance your career.

• Print media such as newspaper or color brochures are good ways to enhance careers. Color brochures are especially effective in self-promotion for real estate agents as well as insurance sales and other sales. Newspaper advertising is also effective and can be a great way to enhance career opportunities.

• Billboards offer an effective way to promote jobs, enhancing your overall exposure as a business or service. Getting yourself in front of your local area through large, colorful billboards will help you to become recognizable within your immediate area.

• Telemarketing campaigns can occasionally enhance careers if a lot of forethought goes into the planning of the campaign. For instance, you can give your career an extra boost by calling people up on the phone with a personal invitation to stop by and visit you or your business. Offer them something special when they do. For services such as real estate and insurance, you can simply put together a canvassing package and let the person you call know you are targeting their general area. Career enhancement fellowships and campaigns take a lot of effort in planning but often require little effort in initiating once you have a plan in place and once you are ready to work your plan.

Career enhancement begins with the desire to increase your overall business and with a plan of strategies to initiate the best way to enhance job opportunities. You want to be able to lure customers and clients in by offering them friendly service and great customer care but they must know about you first in order for you to enhance your career and in order for customers to find you. The power of self-promotion must be used to enhance careers and knowing how to do this is one way to ensure customers and clients find you.

Career Enhancement Stress Management

Career Enhancement Stress Management
How do you survive under the intense stress that can come with a challenging career? We all experience stress in our job from time to time. Some of these stress experiences are overwhelming. If you are in a challenging career the stress can be a constant companion.

Stress produces a range of harmful biochemical and long-term negative health effects. It mimics the natural "fight-or-flight" instincts we have and releases the same hormones that help us to survive in threatening times.

Not only life-threatening events trigger this reaction. We experience it almost any time we come across something unexpected or something that frustrates our goals. We do not notice it among the many other distractions of a stressful situation but it is there. The negative hormones kick into play.

Under stress we are excitable, anxious, jumpy and irritable.
This actually reduces our ability to work effectively with other people. It can be difficult to execute precise, controlled skills. The intensity of our focus on survival interferes with our ability to make fine judgments by drawing information from many sources. We find ourselves more accident-prone and less able to make good decisions.

There are very few situations in modern working life where this response is useful. Most situations benefit from a calm, rational, controlled and socially sensitive approach.

In the short term, we need to keep this fight-or-flight response under control to be effective in our jobs. In the long term we need to keep it under control to avoid problems of poor health and burnout.

Stress Management
There are many skills and techniques to use to manage stress. They help in remaining calm and effective in high pressure situations. They also help avoid the health problems of long term stress.

These skills fall into three main groups:

Action-oriented Skills
These skills seek to confront the problem causing the stress, often changing the
environment or the situation.

Emotionally-oriented Skills
These skills help us when we do not have the power to change the situation but we can manage stress by changing our interpretation of the situation and the way we feel about it.

Acceptance-oriented Skills
These skills help us when something has happened over which we have no power and no emotional control and where our focus must be on surviving the stress.

Win At The Interview Game

Career Enhancement Basics
I recently completed the "Amazing Answers to Any Interview Question" eCourse. I am very impressed. It's very easy to learn and follow the step-by-step lessons. I was able to use the practice scripts right away. The information is presented clearly and is very effective from Lesson 1 to the end.

This is designed for people who are smart enough to invest in themselves to get the extra edge over other people who are going for the same job. The course breaks issues down by strategically discussing each and every possible question and answer in simple terms so that you can learn quickly and easily, no matter what your abilities or experience level.

The difference I found with this program is that it focuses on the INTERVIEWER'S NEEDS instead of the job seeker. This is important since they are hiring for a need.I fill that need and make the point in the interview.

In doing so the courses teaches how to take my experience and spin it in a positive way. The techniques help with being more confident and prepared.

I printed out the Guide from the download so I could scribble notes on the pages. I referred back to it often and this helped. The other item I found worthwhile, and one reason why I purchased the book, was the money back guarantee. With a lot of junk on the web today I felt the guarantee was worth the risk of the purchase.
There were four bonus ebooks that came with the course, too. All of them were peripherally related to interviewing and job searching. I found them each with some value for myself:

*How to Tell if Someone is Lying to You.

*Three FREE software programs you can use to manage your job search efforts, make money while you look for a job, and cut your interview practice and preparation time in half.

*Seven Mental Excercises to Sharpen your Persuasive Mind, Calm your Nerves, and Focus Power:

*Seven Essential Patterns of Behavior for Success

I also found some great resources at Career Enhancement Basics.
